The film tells the parallel love stories of a mother and daughter. The story of the mother is told partially in flashbacks.

The movie starts in the present day. The daughter, Ji-Hae (Son Ye-jin), is cleaning-up around her house when she comes across a box full of old letters and a diary that detail thestory of her mother, Joo-Hee (who is also played by Son Ye-jin). Periodically in the movie, Ji-Hae reads one of these letters, which starts a flashback scene in which thestory of the mother is told. These flashbacks are intertwined with Ji-Hae's own story, in which she falls for a fellow student, Sang-Min (Jo In-sung), who is involved with the school theater.

The movie tells the story of both relationships. The mother, Joo-Hee, visits the countryside as a student one summer and meets Joon-Ha (Jo Seung-woo). Together they explore the countryside, playing near a river which they both will always remember as their special place. When a storm starts they take shelter together under a tree, but not before Joo-Hee twists her ankle and is rendered helpless. Joon-Ha carries her on his back and they struggle home, only to be confronted by her angry parents. Before they separate, Joo-Hee gives him a necklace, which he keeps close as a precious reminder of their time together.

Unfortunately, as often happens in affairs of the heart, a third party prevents any deepening of their relationship. Joo-Hee has been promised by her parents as a bride to Tae-Soo, Joon-Ha's friend. But Tae-Soo, a noble friend, finds out about Joo-Hee and Joon-Ha's attraction for each other and helps the two communicate secretly by letting them use his own name in place of Joon-Ha's in their letters. When Tae-Soo's father finds this out, however, he beats Tae-Soo. Tae-Soo tries unsuccessfully to commit suicide so that his two friends can be together.

Meanwhile, in the present, Ji-Hae falls for Sang-Mi in whom her friend Su-Kyeong (Lee Sang-in) is also very interested, but he seems not to notice. Then, in a sweet scene, they take shelter from the rain together under the same tree. He uses his coat to cover both of them and escorts her to where she needs to go. The moment, while magical, does not go anywhere as she feels his help was only due to his generous nature and not from any feelings for her on his part.

Back in the past, Joon-Ha is guilt-ridden over his friend's attempted suicide and Joo-Hee's own guilt. Determined to prevent any more hurt to her, Joon-Ha joins the army and goes to Vietnam. There he loses his eyesight while he tries to retrieve the necklace Joo-Hee had given him. When he returns to Korea, he meets again with Joo-Hee, and, trying to hide his blindness, convinces her he has married in the hope she will move on with her life. Though heart broken that their relationship cannot continue, she does move on and eventually marries Tae-Soo, Joon-Ha's kind friend. After they have been married for several years and have a young daughter (Ji-Hae) Joo-Hee is approached by friends of Joon-Ha, who relate Joon-Ha's last wish: that his ashes be scattered by Joo-Hee in the river, now a reservoir, where they first met. She then finds out that Joon-Ha already had a son the same age as her daughter. The heart-break is too much and she cries.

In the present, Ji-Hae's own story unfolds. Sang-Mi reveals his true feelings for Ji-Hae - feelings that mirror her own. It is also revealed that their taking shelter together during the storm was no accident: he had purposely left his umbrella behind in a shop so that he could join her under the tree. Then, when Ji-Hae pensively reveals her mother's story to him, tears stream down his face. Silently he lifts a necklace from around his neck and places it around hers. Haeundae 2009

Located on the southeastern tip of the Korean Peninsula, Haeundae-gu of the city Busan draws one million visitors to its beaches every year. Several years ago, Man-sik, a Haeundae local, lost Yeon-hee's father due to his mistake in the 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake while deep-sea fishing together at the Indian Ocean. Because of this, for years, Man-sik wasn't able to tell Yeon-hee, his long time girlfriend who runs an unlicensed seafood restaurant, that he loves her (Yeon-hee doesn't know that her father was killed due to Man-sik's mistake.).

Meanwhile, Dong-choon, another Haeundae local and also a neighbor of Man-sik, teams up with Man-sik's son and does stupid things to earn money, but the two ends up caught by the police. Afterwards, Dong-choon's mother, concerned about her unemployed son, decides to prepare him for a job interview, but Dong-choon does not want to do the job interview. As time pass, Man-sik finally plans to propose to Yeon-hee on a night where there is are fireworks.

Geologist Kim Hwi somehow runs into his divorced wife, Yoo-jin, who is preparing for an expo in Busan. Although Yoo-jin has a daughter (and also a new husband), they decide not to tell their daughter that he (Hwi) is her real father, afraid that the child would be greatly shocked. Meanwhile, a wealthy college student from Seoul, Hee-mi, accidently falls into the ocean from a luxurious yacht. Hyeong-sik, Man-sik's younger brother and also a lifeguard, rescues Hee-mi rather 'violently'. Later on, Hee-mi becomes greatly angered by the 'violent' rescue and annoys him at no end by following him around. But as time passes on, love starts to grow between them.

During the fireworks, Man-sik proposes to Yeon-hee. Yeon-hee says that a ribbon hung outside her restaurant the day after would mean 'yes'. On the day after, Man-sik sees no ribbon, and he meets Dong-choon, who was nearby. Dong-choon tells Man-sik that he told Yeon-hee why her father died several years ago. Man-sik becomes very angered, for he thinks that what Dong-choon told Yeon-hee caused there to be no ribbon.

Meanwhile, Hwi notices that the Sea of Japan (East Sea) is displaying similar activity to the Indian Ocean of the time of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. The Disaster Prevention Agency assures him that Korea is at no risk, but a megatsunami soon forms near Japan and starts to travel at 500 miles per hour towards Haeundae. Hwi notices that the citizens of Haeundae has only 10 minutes left to escape. There is a short earthquake in Haeundae; the elevator Yoo-jin is in stops perhaps due to the earthquake. People run for their lives, but the tsunami soon reaches Haeundae. The streets are shown quickly flooded while the people are trying to escape, and some buildings collapse. Some people and cars on a the Gwangan Bridge are swept away by the tsunami. A powerful electric shock from a telephone pole happens in the now-flooded street where Man-sik and Yeon-hee is in, but the two survive.

A big cargo ship gets stuck at the Gwangan Bridge. Dong-choon, who is on the bridge, tries to escape from the falling cargo containers (from the ship). The containers are shown falling at an extreme momentum. Dong-choon has survived this, and later on, he tries to light a cigarette while still on the bridge. His portable lighter ends up on a flammable liquid flowing from one of the containers; there is a gigantic explosion, where the bridge gets cut in half.

Hyeong-sik jumps down from a rescue helicopter and saves Hee-mi, who was far away in the sea with one of her friends. When Hyeong-sik and the friend are together on the rope, Hyeong-sik realizes that the rope is about to break and only one can go up to the helicopter. After a deep thought, Hyeong-sik cuts down the rope his body is connected to and falls down into the violent sea. The elevator Yoo-jin is in gets flooded with water, and she talks with tears to her daughter by her portable phone. Soon, Yoo-jin is saved by a worker. On the roof of the building, Yoo-jin meets her daughter and Hwi. The two helps their daughter go onto a crowded rescue helicopter. Before the helicopter leaves, Hwi tells the truth to his daughter that he was really her father. Yoo-jin apologizes with tears to Hwi, and they hug onto each other in front of the second tsunami.

After the tsunami, there is a funeral for the lifeguards who were killed in the tsunami; among the ones who were killed is Hyeong-sik. Dong-choon realizes that his mother has passed away in the tsunami, and he breaks into tears. People are shown helping reconstructing the city. Man-sik, while cleaning the ruins of Yeon-hee's restaurant, finds the red ribbon which Yeon-hee's said was a 'yes' for his propose. The movie ends with the scene of Haeundae in ruins, but rather in a hopeful atmosphere.

Nam Hyun Soo (Cha Tae Hyun) was once a popular idol star among teens and worshipped liked a god. Although he’s in his mid-thirties now, he’s still a sought-after celebrity and the host of a popular radio show. But one day a very young single mom named Jung Nam (Park Bo Yeong) sends her stories to the radio show that Hyun Soo hosts. Her stories about her longing to meet her father whom she’s never seen before grips the nation and catapults the ratings to make it the most popular program. But to his surprise, Hyun Soo later confronts none other than Jung Nam, and her 7 year-old boy, Gi Dong (Hwang Seok Hyeon). The film has sold over 8.2 million tickets in Korea and catapulted young star Park Bo-young to household-name status (and earned her a Baeksang Award). Hollywood plans to remake this funny, intelligent and quality story (and film) for the American audience. Hopefully they won’t fail miserably after their version of My Sassy Girl (Straight to DVD) and Tale of Two Sisters (The Uninvited).

The Beast and The Beauty

The Beast and the Beauty (Yasuwa minyeo) is a 2005 South Korean romantic-comedy film. It involves voice-actor Dong-gun (Ryu Seung-beom), whose blind girlfriend Hae-ju (Shin Min-a) suddenly receives surgery to regain her eyesight. Having lied to Hae-ju about his appearance, the beastly Dong-gun chooses to undergo extreme measures to change his appearance, while promising Hae-ju that he will return soon. Meanwhile, Hae-ju bumps into the Joon-ha (Kim Kang-woo)—Dong-gun's high school friend whose appearance is how Dong-gun described himself to Hae-ju—and mistakes him for Dong-gun. Hilarity ensues, and Dong-gun finds himself struggling to hold onto the love of the woman he loves.

SYNOPSIS:
A devil-may-care police woman, Kyung-jin, gets to know a kind-hearted high school teacher Myung-woo when she mistakes him for a thief. After an awkward first encounter and a few more coincidences they start to become fond of each other. Although Kyung-jin is one tough girl, Myung-woo is always worried about her because of her recklessness. One day, when Myung-woo tries to help Kyung-jin during her risky pursuit of a criminal, an accident happens which causes Myung-woo not to be with Kyung-jin anymore. After the accident, Kyung-jin feels empty and lonely so she throws herself into perilous situations. However, whenever she falls in danger she feels that a strange but familiar sense in the wind is helping her out.

REVIEW:
"..."Windstruck" is also not much of a stretch for its actors. Jeon is given yet another chance to act mad, sad, and glad again, and for a while, her over-the-top antics are certainly charming. However, it soon proves to be too much of a good thing. Whereas Jeon's tearful performance in "My Sassy Girl" (especially when apologizing to Kyun-woo on a mountaintop) could reduce grown men to crybabies, the same magic fails to happen in "Windstruck". While this is partly due to the emotionally flat material, the other problem is that the sight of Jeon weeping goes into overkill, with her character breaking out in tears every few minutes until it becomes almost meaningless. Meanwhile, Jang traverses familiar territory in yet another 'lovable loser' role, similar to the work he did in films such as "Volcano High (Whasango)" and "Please Teach Me English (Yeongeo wanjeonjeongbok)"-certainly nothing new for him, but at least there is an earnest quality in his performance. A number of other familiar faces round out the cast, including Jang's "Volcano High" co-star Kim Su-ro as a street thug, as well as a humorous appearance by Lee Gi-wu of "The Classic".

Who has seen the "Windstruck"? A number of unhappy people apparently. "Windstruck" received quite a bit of critical drubbing since its 2004 summer theatrical release, both from the media and fans. While "Windstruck" may be welcome relief for Jeon Ji-hyun fans who have been longing for the spunky actress to return to her roots, (especially after her disappointing appearance in the arthouse horror film "The Uninvited")-- indeed, Kwak offers plenty of footage of the charming actress doing what she does best. Unfortunately, where "Windstruck" falls apart is in the storytelling. Instead of a genuinely moving romantic comedy in the vein of "My Sassy Girl", the emotionally detached "Windstruck" trades in schmaltzy clichés and trips over its scatterbrained script. It is rumored that both Jeon and her "My Sassy Girl" co-star Cha plan to work together again on Kwak's next film, with filming to begin at the end of 2004-hopefully, that collaboration will result in a film worthy of carrying on the legacy of "My Sassy Girl"."

Sensitive Couple (2008)

A college boy Su-min is looking around paintings in a gallery when he hears someone screaming for help. That’s where he first meets a high school girl, Hyun-jin. They soon meet again in a park, and she realizes he is gifted; he can read people’s mind. He doesn’t want to be near her but somehow he happens to talk with her all the time, which makes him confused. They unexpectedly run into a kidnapping case and she is getting sure about his supernatural power. Hyun-jin tags after him, and tries him in many different ways to figure out his gift. He thinks she is so annoying and frustrating; however he finds strangely himself feeling something about her. As he is entangled in Hyun-jin’s test, he ends up cleaning a restaurant to cover for expensive lobster dishes. Later on Su-min and Hyun-jin go to an amusement park with the money from Su-min’s cleaning work and surely she never stops testing him even at the park. Since they see the kidnapping suspect by chance at the park, they get a step closer to real state of the kidnapping…

Making a special guest appearance Curtis Ahn from "Bend Over or Die Tryin'" delivers his finest performance as a homosexual gangster to help with performance curtis received special training from a drunk. Eun-jin later got pregnant with her husband, after pulling him into several occasions of sexual intercourse. Soo-il eventually found out about Eun-jin's truth, and got very furious. Yu-jin died of cancer in front of Eun-jin, and Andy died in the hands of Sherry, after being killed by vengeance from five boys. His colleague Romeo took vengeance on the boys upon hearing the news, but was outnumbered. The pregnant Eun-jin went out to fight the gangsters, but suffered a miscarriage after suffering a vengeance attack by Nanman, who had lost his potency during a showdown with Eun-jin (who also minor suffered abdominal injuries). Her boss pleaded to White Shark to spare her life, who was killed by Soo-il after being attacked by Kerosene, along with 64 other men. The show ends with Nanman getting a showdown with Eun-jin

Ah, remember the days when we were young students with young student teachers who were absolutely beautiful, but oh-so out of our leagues? Kim Yu-Seong, the writer/director of Hot for Teacher (AKA: Who Slept With Her? or the appropriately titled Sexy Teacher) seems to remember that time very well. Led by a sexy but empty performance by former Miss Korea Kim Sa-Rang, Hotfor Teacher is a high spirited sex comedy that's a refreshing change from my steady diet of melodramatic Korean comedies. That's right, this time, there's no terminal disease and no real violence to speak of, just good, clean lowbrow comedic fun.

Ji-Young (Kim Sa-Rang) has been placed into a religious all-boys high school as a student teacher. Her arrival brings the entire school to a standstill, with one student even squeezing his milk carton and spurting milk out (guess what that imagery is supposed to represent). Being a Koreanhigh school, the students are ruled by the iron fist of the dean of students , who's called "Slanted Eyes" and literally shoots laser beams at those that cross him. At the school festival, he hears some amorous noises in the library, and soon after discovers a shoe that belongs to Ji-Young. Determined to find out who did it, Slanted Eyes uses his brain's flashback function and pins down three possible suspects: lady killer Tae-Yo (Ha Seok-Jin), who is legendary for being able to get into a girl's pants within five minutes; Jae-Seong (veteran actor Park Jun-Gyu), whose appearance is explained by a mishap with herbal medicine; and class pervert Myong-Sub, who gets right to the point regarding his intentions with Ji-Young. Synopsis :
The film focuses on the stories about four relationships and their trials, pains, heartaches, and subsequent separations. The plot lines eventually connect in some way, but they remain unrelated for the most part.

The first story tells of a firefighter and his girlfriend named Su-Jung who works in a TV station as a news translator for the mute. He, on the other hand, is waiting for that perfect opportunity, setting and all, before popping the question. The second story is about a deaf girl who works as a costume character in a theme park. There she meets a young artist who she begins to develop feelings for quickly; yet refuses to take off her mask in front of him for quite some time. The third story is of a mother and child. The mother was too busy to spend time with her young son, until an illness confines her to a hospital bed. There the mother and son begin to communicate more and more. Lastly, the story of a boy and girl who have just broken up. The girl's reason being that she needs a more stable guy with a good job. The unemployed ex-boyfriend goes off and finds himself a job helping other couples break up. Hoping that if he earns enough money, he could woo his loved one back.

The film was a relative success, with just over a million admissions in South Korea.It also received a strong showing in Japan, mostly thanks to the popularity of lead actor Jung Woo-sung.

Synopsis
Divided into four segments, A Moment to Remember follows the theme of discovery in a relationship and the burdens of loss caused by Alzheimer's disease.

The first segment of the film, staged in romantic comedy style, introduces the protagonists, a woman named Su Jin and a man named Chul Soo. The movie highlights their accidental meeting in a convenience store and confusion over a can of soda, followed by their subsequent courting despite the social standings that should have kept them apart.

The second segment follows the couple now settling into married life. Su-Jin learns to be a housewife as her husband cares for her. But as the segment progresses, Su-jin begins to display forgetfulness, including an incident in which a fire breaks out because of a forgotten stove. While Chul Soo caught the fire in time, the seriousness of the incident and others draw them to seek medical help.

The third segment involves the revelation of Alzheimer's disease and the couple's consequent response to it. Su Jin is heavily burdened by the knowledge that she will forget her husband and hides it from him at first until he seeks advice from the doctor himself. Despite the disease, they make the commitment to stay together and as the disease progresses, the trials the couple go through increase because of Su Jin's forgetfulness.

The fourth segment reveals Su-jin in the final stages of the disease and the grief Chul Soo experiences because of it. Yet he remains beside her, despite her lost memory, hiding his eyes behind sunglasses when he visits her so she can't see his tears.

The end of the movie finishes off with Chul Soo replaying the first time they met in the convenience store with all her friends and family in the store. Chul Soo takes her back to the retirement home as they are driving off he finally tells her he loves her.
